Categories

The sailing competition is organized by a crew consisting of a captain and 4 other persons. There are two classes (categories):

  • Competitive Class on J80 (keelboat 8.5 meters) with spinnaker
  • Recreational Class on First7,5 (keelboat 7.5 meters) without spinnaker

Registrations are possible for only one of the two classes. Men and women may register together, without any restrictions regarding age or experience.

Registrations are individual. The skipper of the crew must create the team (crew) and inform the rest of the crew to specify the appropriate name when they register.

In the case of a crew with less than 5 people, or a registration of a sailing participant with no crew, Paris 2018 may complete or create crews, eventually changing the class, if necessary.

Paris 2018 maintains the right to confirm before the 1st race the knowledge and experience of each participant, especially regarding the priority rules. Paris2018 may, if needed, change the class of some crews or nominate a new skipper for a team
