France elects a President who supports the Gay Games

On Sunday, 7 May 2017, Emmanuel Macron was elected President of the Republic of France.  Paris 2018 offers its sincere congratulations and warm wishes to President MACRON, and we look forward to working him regarding the organization of the 10th Gay Games.

During the campaign ‘En Marche’, the new President of France announced clearly his support for the Gay Games in Paris, which will take place from 4 to 12 August 2018. In a letter addressed to the LGBTI community, President MACRON promoted social cohesion and expressed the need to continue the fight against discrimination and hate crimes against members of the LGBTI community.  Created with the support of civil society and a synergy of associations, Paris 2018 adheres perfectly with the MACRON program.

During the Presidential campaign, Paris 2018 also had the opportunity to present its project to M. Benjamin Griveaux.

The Paris 2018 Co-Presidents, Pascale Reinteau and Manuel Picaud, therefore invite the President of France, M. MACRON, to be the Patron of Paris 2018-Gay Games 10.  The presence of President MACRON as our Patron will show the world his complete support for what will be an incredible Celebration of Diversity.
