The covered market of Villette (La Grande Halle de la Villette) was the site of the former slaughterhouse built in the Villette neighborhood of Paris. Since its conversion in 1993, La Grande Halle de la Villette has become a space for cultural events and exhibitions.

The Grand Halle, a building consisting of a metal framework and cast iron, has a surface area of 26,000m 2 (88,000 sq ft), 245m long (800 ft), 85m wide (280 ft) 19m high (62ft). Besides the exhibition space, you can also find a reception area, a bookstore, and a restaurant.
