Our philosophy

Paris 2018 is committed to giving everyone a place. Universal accessibility is a common thread that guides us to open the event to as many people as possible. In order to best respond to the aspirations of athletes, artists and the public with disabilities, particular emphasis was placed on information: accessibility of competitions and sites, pictograms, links to information on accessibility in the city of Paris…

Some sporting events have been especially designed to be accessible. Pictograms are placed throughout the program to indicate opportunities for participation based on disabilities. This list is not closed! We are at your service via support.sports@paris2018.com or support.culture@paris2018.com.

We have to learn from each other, so do not hesitate to let us know your wishes and your ideas to participate in Paris 2018 whatever your handicap is.

Visiting Paris with a disability

Some sports events have been especially designed to be accessible by organizing sports associations. Pictograms listed for each sport indicate opportunities for participation based on disabilities. However, anyone with disabilities who wishes to participate, even if their disability is not mentioned, is invited to contact us at support.sports@paris2018.com for sports or support.culture@paris2018.com for Cultural events.

Indeed, we can thus think together about ways to enable him/her to participate. Also, it is important that any person with disabilities registering for the event gives us information about his/her condition so that we can best prepare his/her arrival at Paris 2018 (need for an accompanying person, type of chair, translator For sign language etc.)

Inclusive and sports volunteer teams are mobilized from now to verify the accessibility of sports and cultural facilities for participants and the public, including people with disabilities.

Anyone with special needs in terms of accessibility is once again invited to contact us so that we organize ourselves as well as possible for his/her reception at the event. Indeed, volunteers will be present at the event to ensure the accompaniment of people with disabilities to sport places and public stands.

In addition, material adaptations can be made at the competition venues (ramps, adapted signs, etc.) according to the demands and needs.

This allows you to prepare your stay in Paris by discovering accessible places and activities, whatever your type of handicap. Information is available in French and English.
