The organizers of 2018’s Gay Games 10 in Paris are celebrating another key milestone. 1,000 people have now registered to participate, which opens on 4 August 2018, 750 days from now.
Registration for Paris 2018 – Gay Games 10 opened on 13 May, 2016, earlier than at any time in the past. Thus, the achievement of having 1,000 paid registrations this soon is unprecedented.
Amar Boudi, Director French participants, said “Starting registrations at the International Tournament of Paris, just before the month of Pride has proven to be a good idea. Participants know we are expecting them!”
Among the 1,000 registrants are residents from every continent, including Africa and Asia. 35% of registrants are from France, with the rest being from 24 other countries. The leading events receiving entries are Aquatics and Track & Field. Already, 25% of the available positions for golf have been taken, so those interested in a Parisian golfing experience should register soon.
Emy Ritt, Director International Participation for Paris 2018 -Gay Games 10 said “We are happy to see participants from all over the world registering early. These are smart individuals… they took advantage of early bird registration rates and the best tourism offers from Paris 2018 partners.”
15% of registrants have signed up as “supporters,” proving that one need not be an artist or an athlete to be an active part of the Gay Games.
Stéphanie Peccia, Gay Games 10 Director Quality and Process said “Our whole team worked hard with the Federation of Gay Games to provide the most accurate information when opening registrations and our new website. We want to show the world what we are preparing for them in 2018.”
