The League of Human Rights and the European Association of Human Rights, Latest Partners with Paris

 

In October, the League of Human Rights (LDH) and the European Association of Human Rights (AEDH) signed a landmark partnership agreement with Paris 2018. The mission of Paris in 2018 – Gay Games 10 is organize a Celebration of Diversity with sport and culture, promoting tolerance and without discrimination. Given that the guiding principles of LDH is to "constantly affirm the indivisibility, universality and effectiveness of rights for All", cooperation between the organizations is a natural fit.

Paris 2018 will promote LDH and AEDH by proposing their participation in the Gay Games with many sessions for participants and visitors. The LDH President will lead a session at the Paris 2018 – Gay Games 10 Conference on 1 August dedicated to "Sport for All."

LDH and AEDH welcome this partnership with Gay Games 10, whose motto is ‘All Equal’.  This is an opportunity for an unprecedented intergenerational event promoting equality and friendship, while fighting against xenophobia, homophobia, sexism, and all forms of discrimination. 

For the Co-Presidents of Paris 2018, mutual support means "a total sharing of values, such as tolerance and acceptance of differences. We have a common goal: to mobilize people to overcome discrimination, violence and all forms of intolerance. The League of Human Rights supports the main principles that we defend as part of the 10th edition of the Gay Games. The LDH is a very important partner for us."

 

ABOUT PARIS 2018-GAY GAMES 10

From 4 to 12 August 2018, Paris will host the 10th edition of the Gay Games. Created in 1982 and held every four years, the Gay Games is the biggest sporting and cultural event open to all over 18 years old, without regard to gender identity or sexual orientation, ethnicity or disabilities, and also without any requirements or selection criteria for participants. The next Gay Games will welcome up to 15,000 participants and 300,000 spectators, under the guiding principles of Participation, Inclusion and Personal Best™, with thirty-six sports, fourteen cultural events, two conferences, one village, and a sports conference.
